Cyna vs Bonsai
Where work is won.

Bonsai gives you a template and an approval click. Cyna drafts the proposal in your firm’s voice, collects a real signature, and freezes exactly what was agreed.

Why teams switch

Three reasons teams move to Cyna.

All three are about winning the work.

Someone has to write it

Bonsai gives you a template and a service-package block; its AI story is connecting your own Claude or ChatGPT. Cyna drafts scope, timeline and pricing in your firm’s voice from proposals you have won.

A signature, not a click

Bonsai proposals are accepted with a one-click e-approval. Cyna collects a real drawn or typed signature behind an email-verification gate, with audit fields on every one.

One priced object

In Bonsai an accepted proposal spawns a separate invoice, and a deposit spawns another. In Cyna the accepted proposal is what gets charged and what the invoice freezes from.

The real difference

An approval click isn’t a signature.

Cyna freezes exactly what was signed.

Signed, not clicked
Draw or type a signature on a tokenized link with no account, behind an email-verification gate.
Frozen the moment they sign
The structured document, pricing, brand tokens and a rendered copy are captured with a content hash.
Audit fields on every signature
Signed-at time, hashed IP, device and verified email, aligned with ESIGN and UETA.

Switching

Split the job, don’t migrate.

Win the work here, run it where it runs.

Bring three proposals

Paste in three you have won so Cyna learns your voice, and keep them as templates.

Send and get paid in Cyna

Signature, deposit on acceptance and the milestone or retainer schedule all run from the accepted proposal.

Keep delivery where it is

Projects, tasks and timesheets stay in whatever your team already uses. Nothing to migrate.

FAQ

Cyna vs Bonsai, answered.

Not in the product. Their proposals page lists service packages, white label, deposit capture, seen receipts, client e-approval and templates, and does not mention AI. Their AI story is Bonsai MCP: connect your own Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini and let it act on your Bonsai data — useful, and a different thing from drafting a proposal in your firm’s voice.

Bonsai accepts a proposal with a one-click e-approval, and their help centre confirms the accepted document locks, with an audit trail of IP addresses and dates; their signature guide is careful to say they produce an electronic rather than a PKI-based digital signature. Cyna collects a real signature behind an email-verification gate, then freezes the structured document, pricing and brand tokens with a content hash, plus signed-at time, hashed IP, device and verified email.

Not today. Bonsai runs project delivery, timesheets, budgets and bookkeeping, and Cyna’s delivery layer is still rolling out. Cyna replaces the proposal and billing half, and a lot of agencies run both on purpose.

Bonsai, on the headline: entry is $9 a user billed annually against our $25, and the plan most agencies buy is $29 against our $49. Note their Elite plan carries a three-user minimum, and removing Bonsai branding from client-facing documents needs Premium.

When the proposal and the money are the job — you scope, you send, you get paid, and delivery happens in whatever your team already uses.
